Frequently asked questions.
What is the Inclusive Provider Directory?
The Inclusive Provider Directory is a comprehensive online platform that connects individuals with healthcare providers who offer inclusive and affirming care to mothers, parents and families. The directory aims to ensure that everyone can find providers who understand and respect their unique needs.
Who can use the Inclusive Provider Directory?
Anyone seeking services related to moms, parents and families can use the directory to find providers who offer inclusive care. We are constantly updating the directory with new providers.
How do I search for a provider?
You can search for a provider by entering keywords into the directory related to the type of care you need, your location, or specific services. The search results can be filtered by various criteria, such as specialty, language, and insurance accepted.
What types of providers are included in the directory?
The directory includes a wide range of providers, including mental health professionals, doulas, lactation specialists, physical therapists, parent educators, sleep consultants, and more. All listed providers are presumably joining the directory because they are committed to offering inclusive and affirming care.
How are providers selected for inclusion in the directory?
Providers are invited or self-select to join the directory because they align with the mission and values of the directory. All directory submissions are thoroughly reviewed for accurate information. We trust that this directory will help clients narrow down the options to find providers who are interested in being inclusive and identity-affirming, but we cannot guarantee that every provider will live up to this mission. We recommend that clients always take caution when meeting with a new provider and to interview them to see if they feel it is a good fit.
Is there a cost to use the Inclusive Provider Directory?
No, using the directory is completely free for patients. There are no charges for searching for providers or accessing any of the information on the site.
Do you provide discounted, free, or scholarship-covered membership for BIPOC providers or providers who hold other marginalized identities?
Yes! We want to make this directory as inclusive as possible and that means making it accessible to providers! We make it a priority to invite BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and other providers from marginalized identities and offer sliding scale and free memberships based on need. If the membership cost is a hardship and you’d like to become a member please reach out to hello@inclusiveproviders.com directly and we’ll make it happen!
Can providers update their information in the directory?
Yes, providers can update their profiles, including contact information, services offered, and other relevant details. They can log in to their account to make any necessary changes.
